Air Internet is committed to providing the best service possible in Sandy Valley. We have just made the investment into the valley's future when it comes to internet services. Having acquired the latest technology from SkyPilot, we will begin to deploy and test the network in the coming months. We hope to increase network reliability while at the same time reducing the latency of the network and increasing overall speeds.
The new SkyExtender's that will be deployed will replace the older Cisco radios that were currently being used. Whereas the older Cisco radios provided connectivity to both the customer and the network base using the same channels. the newer units have a dedicated frequency for the backhaul to the network base so that the channels utilized for the customer connection is dedicated to just that. This should reduce interference and increase throughput.

The topology of the network will remain the same in that it will remain a mesh network. This will allow the network to remain robust in nature and in the case of a single node outage, the remaining network will automatically rebuild and reroute traffic around the outage allowing it to continue to operate until the outage has been repaired.
We will announce our test results here on the website once we have them and inform you of the changeover dates etc as those dates become available.
Sincerely,
The staff of sandyvalley.net

In 2002 with the help and assistance of Air Internet in Pahrump, the coop began to offer high speed wireless internet to the community. Air Internet has provided excellent service and support to the co-op during these years to keep the service working.
