Sandy Valley Cyber Co-op Association
After contacting every ISP that served Nevada, and being told they weren't interested in offering service here in Sandy Valley, we decided to start our own ISP. The Sandy Valley Cyber Co-op was founded and went on line in May 7, 1998. Until that time, our rural community relied on long distance or toll calls to access the Internet. We partnered with @Wizard.com and then moved to Air-Internet.com in Pahrump when @Wizard.com was acquired by a Colorado firm. We have enjoyed a fruitful and amiable relationship with Air-Internet for about 7 years.
There is a one-time membership fee of $10, as the Co-op is organized as a 501 (C) not-for-profit cooperative.
The Co-op offers both dialup service (supported by Globalpops) for $20 per month and high-speed wireless service for $30 per month. We have special offers for prepayment and take all major credit cards.
For the wireless, the equipment package is $350, which includes everything needed to install a Cisco radio, coax wire, and an antenna. The installations are performed by an independent contractor, who charges a fee for the installation.
A signup application is available on this website for both membership and the wireless equipment package. Print the application necessary and take it with the appropriate payment to the SV Post Office.
